2021: The Year of CloudCoin

The New Year brings many opportunities for growth and advancement of the CloudCoin project and 2021 may well be the year that awareness about and adoption of CloudCoin and RAIDA technology explode. RAIDA MAIL will launch soon, with millions of potential users. CloudCoin will be added to additional exchanges and an exchange especially designed for RAIDA-backed assets should debut in 2021. Interest in digital currencies are at their highest point ever. The COVID pandemic has triggered a paradigm shift in how people interact digitally. Questionable government monetary policies in response to COVID will further destabilize and erode the trust in fiat currencies. The stage is truly set for a breakout year for CloudCoin. The Consortium wishes everyone a prosperous, happy, and above all, healthy 2021!

Mobile app for CloudCoin Wallet in testing

A new version of the CloudCoin Wallet mobile application is now in testing and should be released soon. Developers have said the new version retains the simplicity of the current edition but will be 400 times faster. A screen shot of the prototype is below. An Android version will be released first, followed later by iOS.

Consortium backer appears on Fox Business

Financial analyst and Consortium supporter Phil Flynn appeared on the Cavuto Coast to Coast program on Fox Business News Thursday. Flynn and guest host Jackie DeAngelis spoke about the downsides to blockchain currencies like bitcoin. Flynn is an expert in the energy sector, and warned that bitcoin mining requires "the energy equivalent consumption of a country of 21 million and that's going to be unsustainable over the long run." The pair also discussed blockchain's potential problems with hacking and governance.

CloudCoin founder Sean Worthington invited readers to support the work done by Consortium programmers and developers on GitHub. The number of sponsors has remained steady at approximately 30 people.  As Sean previously shared, sponsorship plays an integral role in allowing the Consortium to grow and develop. Some of the ongoing objectives of the Consortium are: to complete the task of becoming chartered as a Swiss verein (non-profit association); to be listed on more exchanges; and to continue to raise awareness about CloudCoin and RAIDA. Sean became the first sponsor by pledging $100 per month at GitHub. GitHub is the world's largest suite of tools for open source developers, and becoming part of their sponsorship program is an important step forward.
