CloudCoin Weekly Bulletin 158

Record number of CloudCoins authenticated
CloudCoin users password-owned ("powned") over 200 million coins in the past month.

Pown stats found here show that 224,616,472 coins were authenticated between Oct. 14 and today. The heavy volume is likely due to acquisitions and trades related to the CloudCoin listing on the bitcoin.com exchange.

Powning takes place when someone uses CloudCoin software or an online tool to change the internal authenticity numbers so that only the new owner knows those numbers.

Prototype ready for RAIDA Mail system
The first prototype for the RAIDA Mail system has been completed. Anyone who opens a Skywallet account can also get a free email account.

RAIDA Mail is safer, faster and has more utility than traditional mail services. Unique benefits include:

  • Quantum safe, now and in the future
  • Larger size files (1GB compared to 25MB)
  • Faster file upload and download
  • No spam and no phishing
  • Optional digital signatures that authenticate the identity of the sender
  • Does not connect to emails outside of the RAIDA email system
  • Emails confirmed as sent instantly--no bouncing or waiting
  • Uses AES instead of SSL

RAIDAtech membership offering oversubscribed
The second crowdfund offering for RAIDAtech, the company developing new applications for patented RAIDA protocols, exceeded the $535,000 limit within a week, and is now oversubscribed.

Crowdfunding rules require the offering to be open for 21 days, even after the limit has been reached. Investor funds are held in escrow while clearing the AML/KYC process. Once the limit of $535,000 is reached for cleared funds, the remaining funds, if any, will be refunded. The escrow company plans to begin finalizing investments within a week.

Investors will receive membership units valued at $1.58 per unit at the discounted price of $1.00 and a premium bonus of 100 CloudCoins per each unit purchased.

RAIDAtech was valued by Equidam at $15.8 million, up from $10.7 million 16 months ago, following official issuance of its patent and positive earnings.

You can support CloudCoin on GitHub
CloudCoin founder Sean Worthington invited readers to support the work done by Consortium programmers and developers on GitHub. The number of sponsors has remained steady at close to 30 people.

As Sean previously shared, sponsorship plays an integral role in allowing the Consortium to grow and develop. Some of the current goals of the Consortium are: to complete the task of becoming chartered as a Swiss verein (non-profit association); to be listed on more exchanges; and to continue to raise awareness about CloudCoin and RAIDA.

Sean became the first sponsor by pledging $100 per month at GitHub.

GitHub is the world's largest suite of tools for open source developers, and becoming part of their sponsorship program is an important step forward.

Protect RAIDA from hackers as a Guardian
RAIDA Guardians operate proxy servers to make RAIDA more reliable and robust, and Guardians can earn rewards.

Guardians are a vital part of CloudCoin's global effort to create a perfect monetary system that will increase the freedom and prosperity of everyone, while helping combat authoritarian governments who rely on currency manipulation for their existence.

If you are interested in receiving more information on becoming a Guardian, please sign up here for an invitation to a members-only Telegram group.

Is there really anything such as free money?
Commentary by Christopher Davis, Consortium Member

Not impossible, but not likely. You may have heard of pennies from heaven. Some immigrants in late 19th and early 20th centuries were told that the streets of America were lined with gold, but even if they dreamed it was, they soon found out that it was not a literal statement.

Of course you could win a lottery or receive an inheritance from a long lost relative, but what are the odds of that happening? Not only is there no free money, but it can also cost you to send and receive money.

Up until now there has only been one way to transfer money from one person to another for free, and that has been with cash and that usually meant doing it in person.

There are all sorts of costs involved in sending money from one person to another, especially if you are sending it across borders. Each year, people in the United States send about $150 billion dollars to family members in other countries.

The average remittance costs are about 7.68 % or about $11.5 billion dollars per year. About $30 billion (20%) of that $150 billion is sent to our nearest neighbor Mexico, at a remittance cost of about $2.3 billion dollars.

The advent of cryptocurrencies, and the emergence of an even newer decentralized digital currency, is slowly beginning to change all that. Right now, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies still have substantial fees which are paid to miners. These fees can be particularly expensive for the transfer of smaller amounts like a few hundred dollars or less. In the crypto world these fees are called GAS because they are considered transportation expenses.

The newest player in the alternative currency world is a cloud-based digital currency called CloudCoin which is 100% free of GAS fees on a direct peer-to-peer (computer-to-computer) basis. But before you get too excited, unless the person receiving the alt currency has someone who will accept it in trade directly, they will still need to work with an exchange such as Bitcoin.com to convert it into their local currency.

While CloudCoin itself does not have a GAS fee, there are still exchange fees involved ... just as there are exchange fees involved with fiat currencies, such as with dollars to pesos.

So while there will likely always be fees associated with converting from one currency to another, the first big step has been taken by CloudCoin by eliminating its own GAS fees.

We are moving forward and we’re picking up speed with new technologies such as cryptocurrencies and CloudCoin and the new exchanges such as bitcoin.com.

Enhanced RAIDA DA program ready for launch
The enhanced RAIDA Detection Agent program will begin offering upgrades to existing agents next week, then resume enrolling new agents soon after.

Operators of the new storage option will not only make the RAIDA network stronger, faster, and more secure, they will also act as cloud storage servers to facilitate applications such as RAIDA DATA and RAIDA MAIL now being implemented. The enhanced agent units will feature improved hardware and programming.

Those Agent applicants on the waiting list will be contacted soon. To be added to the waiting list, you can email here to be among the first to become an enhanced Detection/Storage Agent.

Operators can earn a portion of network traffic revenues, as well as bonuses paid in CloudCoins. The storage server option will create new opportunities to earn both CloudCoin and hard cash. There are still a small number of special "Founders" opportunities available.

Enhanced Agents can also now serve double-duty as RAIDA Guardians (see the article above about the Guardian proxy program) using the same equipment.

There is even a referral program where people can become Detection/Storage Agents with zero licensing fees simply by referring potential operators.

Shubh Diwali
Yesterday marked the beginning of Diwali, the five day Festival of Lights to celebrate victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.

During Diwali, people often light up their homes or businesses with rows of divas, small earthenware oil lamps. The fourth day is the main festival day and also marks the beginning the new year of the Vikrama calendar.

The holiday originated from Hinduism in India, but is now observed in many places around the world by people of many faiths, particularly in places with populations of South Asian descent.

CloudCoin extends our best wishes to all our friends throughout the world. May the beautiful gleaming lamps of Diwali brighten your lives and make the world a better place.
